Camp Lifeguard
The Camp Lifeguard will be supervising any activities that occur on or around the water sources at KMSC (ponds and channel) including boating, fishing, water sampling, etc.
Candidate must be a certified lifeguard (or willing to be certified) and have experience working with children in grades K-8th.
During boating sessions, you will be required to man a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard.
Expect to spend the majority of your day outdoors.
Job specifics:
Participate in up to 2 training week days (the first being June 12th)
Must possess a valid lifeguard certificate and be able to demonstrate life-saving strategies as well as first aid knowledge
Responsible for monitoring campers as they swim, keeping track of start and end times and calling campers out of water in time to get to their next activity
General supervision of campers at times where water activities are not scheduled and organization of waterfront shed
Assist in camper check-ins and check-outs
Work for 8 weeks (June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12, July 15-19, July 22-26, July 29- Aug.
2, Aug.
5-9 and Aug.
12-16)
Report each day to Knabusch Math and Science Center at 8:15am and expect to leave at 3:45pm (30 min lunch on your own)
Preference will be given to outgoing and adventurous candidates who have outdoor experience.
A wage of $15.
00/hour is provided.
