Dairy Frozen Food Department Lead
*Job Description:*
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Dairy Frozen Food Department Lead at our independent conventional grocery store.
As the Department Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dairy and frozen food departments, ensuring efficient operations and exceptional customer service.
*Key Responsibilities:*
1.
Manage the daily operations of the dairy and frozen food departments, including ordering, stocking, and merchandising products.
2.
Supervise department staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction.
3.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels, minimizing waste & ensuring accurate inventory levels at all times.
4.
Implement and enforce proper food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
5.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing and promotions to maximize profitability.
6.
Create appealing displays and signage to showcase products and drive sales in the dairy and frozen food departments.
7.
Conduct regular inspections of department equipment and facilities, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns and conducting monthly deep cleanings of cases & cooler areas.
8.
Analyze sales data and trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the department.
Take aggressive pro-active measures to stay on top of products dates & freshness, reacting in advance to minimize impact of out dated product on department profitability.
9.
Collaborate with store management on marketing initiatives, seasonal promotions, and special events to drive customer traffic and increase sales.
10.
Uphold a high standard of customer service, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
*Qualifications:*
1.
Previous experience in a retail grocery setting, _*with a multi-year focus on dairy and frozen food departments*_ preferred.
2.
*Strong leadership and communication skills*
3.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in handling perishable goods.
4.
*Excellent organizational and time management skills*
5.
*Proficiency in inventory management and ordering systems, or an ability to quickly learn and master the technologies used in these processes (computers, handhelds, sales data, item movement data, basic mathematics)*
6.
*Flexibility to work a variety of shifts*, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
7.
*High school diploma or equivalent*; additional education or training in food service management is a plus.
