The Rockwood Electrician has the responsibility to inspect, maintain, repair and install electrical connections involving plant machinery, equipment and facilities.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Perform and document pre-shift inspections on mobile equipment
* Perform preventative electrical and electronic maintenance
* Performing inspections and tests on electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality.
* Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints, and maps.
* Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility.
* Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices.
* Perform and oversee timely electrical repairs to continuously improve plant processing and equipment
* Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation.
* Notify supervision of parts taken from inventory stock, make requests for needed tools and parts
* Clean up after jobs, put away tools and return any unused parts to proper storage areas
* Assists with planning and installing new plant electrical and electronic equipment
* Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and MSHA / OSHA safety requirements and through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management as needed to continue effective operations
