*Position Overview:*
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions.
*Responsibilities:*
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the cannabis dispensary and processing facility.
* Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments and customer invoicing.
* Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
* Monitor inventory levels and reconcile physical inventory counts with recorded amounts.
* Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
* Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support business planning.
* Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational decision-making.
* Collaborate with management to develop and implement internal controls and procedures.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and cannabis industry standards.
*Requirements:*
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with 2 years in the cannabis industry or a regulated environment.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.
g.
, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with financial reporting.
* Knowledge of cannabis regulatory requirements and compliance standards is preferred.
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
